Why Guy Madjo is key to Aldershot's promotion charge

When Guy Madjo was signed by Dean Holdworth in the January transfer window, everybody thought he was a bit mad. Yes, he could score goals but consistency and loyalty had always been a worry with Madjo and after making only 1 appearance for Stevenage the signing was even more perculiar but boy was it a good one!
With Jermaine McGlashan and Luke Gutteridge both leaving the club (to Cheltenham and Northampton respectively), Michael Rankine and Alex Rodman both out with long term injuries, Bradley Bubb out on loan at Eastleigh and Danny Hylton not scoring as many as he did at the beginning of the season, a striker was needed and fast. Holdsworth signed 2, Madjo and big Namibian international Wilko Risser. Whilst Risser has struggled to cement a place in the side, Madjo has been a revelation.
4 goals in 7 games, he has becme Aldershot's leading striker. He has helped wean Danny Hylton back into form (who scored his first goal in 4 month in the 4-1 thrashing of Barnet in which Madjo scored twice).
If Aldershot want to seriously consider themselves able to reach the play offs Madjo needs to stay fit and keep scoring!
